For My Valentine

I am all about cute, homemade, sentimental gifts.  So for a lot of holidays I usually try to DIY something (and these usually end up being the gifts that are my Love’s favorite)… Of course, I got a lot of my inspiration for this project from various Pinterest pins.  But, I added my own personal touch and made it all about my Love and I, and our relationship.

This year for my Valentine, I created an “ABCs of Our Love” booklet.

Here’s how I did it:

First, I purchased a tiny notebook from Target.  (I got the Molskine brand which came in a pack of two, and measures approximately 4×3 inches.)

Next, I created the first page.  (Since I am a perfectionist, I typed everything.)

Then, I added each letter of the alphabet onto a separate page (I used alphabet stickers)…

After that, I created a sentence or 2 about our life or love that fit each letter.  Since I used sentences, I bolded the letter in the sentence that matched the letter for that page.   (For example: T is for TriviaCrack.)

Finally, I decorated the front cover with a simple sticker, and then added some Valentine’s ribbon.

It’s amazing how something so simple can mean so much.  It didn’t take much effort or cost a lot, but it is personalized and meaningful.  To me, that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about.  I also included a little box of chocolates and a card when I sent it out.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours!

What are some things you sent your loved one?

  1. That’s so cute! It’s an excellent idea for a gift. I made 100 cards with reasons why I love my boyfriend and also had a “mini” moleskine with my daily thoughts and doodles about him for a month!
