This month’s MilSO Box was Autumn wrapped up in a pretty white and purple package.
Here’s what the October Box included:
Deployment Survival Cup. I don’t know how MilSO Box LLC knows me so well, but they do! Honestly, the very first day of this deployment I bought a bottle of wine, but broke my adorable anchor wine glass… Of course, that didn’t stop me from drinking my wine, but I was still pretty bummed about it (as if being bummed about the deployment wasn’t bad enough). I’m glad I hadn’t replaced my wine glass yet, because the MilSO Box did instead! This glass was from MilSO owned Rebecca Lane Graphics.
Miso Caramels. Caramel is one of the tell-tale signs of fall, I mean you’ve got caramel drinks, caramel apples, and delicious caramels themselves. These handmade caramels come from a Marine Veteran owned company called Gearhart’s Chocolates. After trying one, I can say that the Miso caramels are unlike any typical caramel I’ve ever had -in a good way! They are accented with salt (salt and caramel is a perfect combination) and Japanese Miso which gave it such a unique taste.
MilSO Inspired Temporary Tattoo. This small temporary tattoo can make me a true “white girl” -anchor and all haha. It’s cute, but I don’t know that I’ll be using it anytime soon. This tattoo was custom designed for us MilSOs by Fleeting Ink.
Patriotic Infinity Scarf. Scarf season is here my friends! I was excited when I saw that this box included a new scarf, and a patriotic one at that! I have been eyeing up a scarf similar to this on Etsy, but now I don’t have to. This scarf was from American-made company Colorado Chick Co.
Pumpkin Pie Scented Candle. Last but not least, on top of the caramel flavors that surround us every Autumn, there is of course Pumpkin everything. This yummy scented candle is from another American company Boer Barn, which is owned by the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran.
Besides the tattoo, I was very pleased with this MilSO Box. I have one more month left in my subscription, so I have begun thinking about if I will re-subscribe or not. So far with the 5 months that I have received boxes, I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the items, and MilSO Box’s determination toward finding great companies (MilSO-owned, Veteran-Owned, or American Made) to supply those items. Currently I’m leaning toward continuing my subscription -but the November box will be the telling factor. I’ll keep you all posted as to my decision and why!
